State minister in the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information Alando Terrelonge (centre) was on hand Saturday to cut the ribbon and join French Ambassador Denys Wibaux (second left) in marking the symbolic opening of Alliance Francaise de la Jamaique's new home at 12 Merrick Avenue, off South Avenue, Kingston. The new, more central location is expected to attract more Jamaicans who wish to learn the French language, one of the most popular activities at the French cultural organisation, a long-time friend of Jamaica. With them are (from left) Ambassador Marcia Gilbert-Roberts (left), permanent secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade; Pierre Lemaire, president, Alliance Francaise de la Jamaique; and Marie-Noelle Brunot, director of Alliance Francaise.
