Salada Foods Jamaica Ltd has diversified its product offering to include a roasted line of Mountain Peak coffee beans aimed at satisfying the evolving taste of its consumers.

The product, which was launched earlier this month, is now available in 8 oz and 16 oz packages and includes two varieties, roasted and ground and roasted whole beans.

“Salada Foods Jamaica Ltd is affectionately known by Jamaicans as 'the coffee company of Jamaica'; in order to live up to this moniker, we ensure our products match the demands of the consumer,” Commercial and Corporate Affairs Manager Tamii Brown explained in a press release from the company.

Primary targets of the product are professionals and coffee drinkers whose taste in coffee has matured, the company said.

“We have noted that coffee drinkers' preference often grows to include a roasted variety. The roasted line from Jamaica Mountain Peak is a must-have for consumers seeking to enjoy a bolder coffee experience,” Brown added.

She reckons that sales in both the retail and hospitality sectors will trend upwards. What's more, the new product has already been introduced to the international market with exports underway in Caribbean countries, Canada and the United States of America.

Salada noted that focus was placed on packaging o user-friendly in line with international and local consumer trends.

“The roasted line is packaged in an airtight andre-sealable pouch specially designed to allay the shared concern that coffee grounds/beans will lose their freshness once opened,” Brown reasoned.

“Additionally, the pouches were designed to be self-standing, which helps to eliminate those frustrating spills in the kitchen during each brew,” she said.

Mountain Peak's roasted line comes a year after the launch of Mountain Bliss 876 which comes in two offerings - Classic and Gold.
