It's a new year, Clown!
Dear Editor,
I am using this opportunity to commend every well-thinking, hard-working and altruistic Jamaican who is still working to elevate our country.
Conversely, I am recommending that all the others, who have been 'clowning around', perhaps, through lack of proper guidance, take some time to do a little introspection; hence, my bidding:
Come here, Clown!
No more joking roun' dis year,
Memba seh di circus gawn.
Am I making myself clear?
You an' yuh cronies run some serious, even deadly pranks, las' time.
Look! Dis is a bran' new year, an' guess wah?
We want peace of mind!
Wi kyaa jus' a duck an' dodge an' peep; lock up wiself an' cringe.
All a dat is rubbish!
Dis ya year, wi going to live!
Wi going to exist as human beings, an' not as roach an rat-bat.
Wi refuse fi get enslave, tru crime.
Soh, you betta learn dat!
Fi yu clowing las' year, bring plenty tears an pain.
Go tek off yu fool-fool clown skin
An' mek wi work fi bring back
Dis ya place good name!
Jamaica kyaa be 'Paradise'
An' 'Adam', 'Eve' an' di 'Serpent' dead!
Di 'Tree of Life' it pop down!
Di 'Garden' a run red!
“Unity!” mi saying, Clown.
Wi haffi try an work togedda.
If yu disagree, yu can seh so to. Yu is still mi bredda.
Pu' down dem-deh one side, or simply get rid of dem!
Mek wi shake han fi a calm year.
Forward movement now, mi fren!
