Dear Editor,

I recently saw a feature in the Jamaica Observer in which Mark Barnett, the president of National Water Commission (NWC), was baking up a storm with his Christmas cakes.

I applaud him because ladies always like to see men in the kitchen.

President Barnett, I would love to bake my cakes too this Christmas, but like last year I am not sure if I will be able to do this because of a lack of water in the pipes.

Sherlock Crescent in Duhaney Park has been suffering from frequent lock-offs for almost two years now, with no word from NWC. Whenever we call, all NWC is telling us is that they are fixing pipes. What are you all doing: building a pipe to Heaven? Because only God alone knows why fixing a pipe can take almost two years.

The water goes every day and sometimes comes back the following day or late in the night with low pressure.

Sherlock Crescent is not the only community suffering with NWC lock-offs, other communities in the Corporate Area also suffer, and the NWC doesn't even have the courtesy to speak to their customers who they are still sending high bills every month.

So, President Barnett, we too want to enjoy our Christmas, so give us some water so we can bake our nice Christmas cakes as well.

Trevor Blake
