IT'S all systems go for the grand coronation of Miss Jamaica World 2018. It takes place tonight at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston.

According to Aston Cooke — director of Crown of Beauty, franchise holder of the pageant — patrons are in for an entertainment spectacle.

“We have a great show in store and it will be fully entertaining. In a nutshell, you can expect an entertainment spectacle,” Cooke told the Jamaica Observer.

Leading the charge will be the Ashe Ensemble and 2017 Digicel Rising Stars' winner Short Boss.

Said Cooke: 'The 16 finalists are upbeat and rehearsals have been ongoing all week with Weston Haughton (director of Crown of Beauty). We have had four fast-track winners so far, and we will announce the Beauty with a Purpose fast-track winner on Saturday night.”

The fast-track winners (who have received an automatic placement in the Top 10) are: Lamise Hamilton — Top Model; Amaya Lewis — Fitness; Shanique Salmon — Talent; and Rushell Malcolm — Beach Beauty.

A number of sectional prizes are also up for grabs including Congeniality and Photogenic. There is also the Singer Golden Scissor Award for Best Designer. The designer will win a sewing machine courtesy of Singer, while the girl wearing the winning design will walk away with a television set from Singer.

Last year's Miss Jamaica World winner Solange Sinclair made the Top 10 at the Miss World finals.
