DESPITE not getting the turnout they anticipated, organisers of Mix Your Own Drink (MYOD) say the event was a success.

“I was satisfied with the turnout for the inaugural staging of MYOD, as it will definitely grow from strength to strength. The word is getting out and the patrons who turned out really enjoyed themselves; the energy level was very high,” Chadwick Smith, a representative of promoters Real Rum Rockers, told Jamaica Observer. “Patrons were impressed with the mixing your own drink concept and made enquiries of the next staging.”

MYOD was held at Serengetti Bistro, at Hope Gardens in St Andrew recently.

According to Smith, the selectors were on point.

“DJ Chaddy G opened the mic for DJ Nicco, who got the crowd going. He ripped the place with a selection from 2000 onwards, which the patrons couldn't get enough of,” said Smith.

He said the second event will be on this summer.

“I don't really want to reveal at this time what is to be expected, but I can guarantee the mixing your own drink will be a part of the concept,” he said.
