Sister power takes centrestage at Taste of Africa Pt 2 to be held on September 11 in celebration of the Ethiopian New Year. Five female sound system selectors will provide the music at this Motherland Promotions-produced event, which is being held at Twelve Tribes of Israel headquarters, on Hope Road.

The 'Sistah Selectahs' are Grammy-nominated deejay Sister Carol, Dub Club regular Wave Empress, Iset Sankofa (best known for her Sankofa Sessions), vinyl aficionado DJ Marshmello, and Japan's Yumi of Yumi Hi-Power.

The evening will have a distinctive African flavour, with select chefs preparing food from the continent.

Part proceeds from Taste of Africa Pt 2 will go to the JRDC School in Shashamene, Ethiopia and the Twelve Tribes of Israel/Dr Vernon Carrington Scholarship Fund.
