ST ANN, Jamaica— Cheryl Lamey, the mother of 10-year-old Rajun Brown, whose body was found in a pond near his home in Water Valley, St Ann, has confirmed that her son drowned.

Lamey confirmed the cause of death this afternoon following a post-mortem.

The 10-year-old's body was discovered on January 30 after a search party went looking for him when he failed to return home.

In the wake of the youngster's death, residents are calling for the removal of the pond, which was built by Noranda Bauxite.
