Man flees cops in St Elizabeth, ditches loaded gun

ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — A man fled the police in St Elizabeth on Sunday, leaving behind a loaded gun, according to reports.

Officers from the Lacovia Police Station were reportedly operating a vehicular checkpoint when they stopped a Nissan Tiida motorcar about 4:00 pm.

The lawmen said, a passenger exited the vehicle and ran. However, a 9mm Beretta pistol loaded with ten 9mm rounds fell from his waistband and was seized.

The driver also escaped.

Investigations continue.
