KINGSTON, Jamaica — The People's National Party (PNP) is extending best wishes to Minister of National Security, Dr Horace Chang, for a full and speedy recovery from injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle crash early this morning.

The Security Ministry this morning said Chang along with two Close Protection Officers (CPO) were enroute to the Norman Manley Airport, when the accident occurred at the intersection of Shortwood and Grants Pen roads in St Andrew.

The minister and his CPOs were examined at the University Hospital of the West Indies. Chang did not sustain any serious injuries, however the CPOs sustained minor injuries and were treated before being released.

PNP President, Dr Peter Phillip, said Dr Chang should know that “he is very much in the thoughts and prayers of the PNP family.”

Dr Phillips said that he was relieved that even though Dr Chang and the police officers accompanying him sustained injury, they were spared the worst as from reports, the accident was indeed serious.

The party president said he looked forward to Dr Chang resuming his normal schedule as soon as possible.
