Titchfield student dead, 23 injured in bus crash

PORTLAND, Jamaica — At least one student from Titchfield High School is dead and 23 others injured after the minibus they were traveling in plunged into a ravine.

The incident occurred shortly after 3:00 pm in Black Hill in the parish.
Reports are that the minibus was traveling along the main road when the driver lost control of the vehicle which careened off the thoroughfare.
The students were rushed to the Annotto Bay hospital where one was pronounced dead.
The student has not yet been identified.
