Two killed, three injured in St James shooting

ST JAMES, Jamaica— Two men were killed and three more injured in a gun attack in St James on Saturday.

According to the police, 32-year-old Leonard Mais of Spot Valley in the parish was among a group of persons when an SUV drove up. Two armed men reportedly alighted from the vehicle and opened gunfire hitting Mais and another person.

The police said during their escape, the armed men opened fire hitting Reid who was sitting at the front of a shop and two other persons.

Mais and Reid were taken to the hospital where they were pronounced dead. The police said the three other persons were admitted in serious but stable condition.

Lawmen said the attack took place about 4:20 pm.
