UPDATE: Mother killed in St Thomas identified

ST THOMAS, Jamaica — The police have released the name of the woman who was shot dead in her home in St Thomas this morning.

She is Nadine Brown, 46, a sales representative of Edward Road, Alexander Park in the parish.

According to police reports, Brown was gunned down sometime after 6 o'clock.

She was pounced upon by a lone gunman who opened fire hitting her several times before escaping.

The police were alerted and the woman found suffering from gunshot wounds.

Reports reaching OBSERVER ONLINE are that at the time of the attack, Brown was preparing to leave her home to take her child to a school in the Corporate Area.

Lawmen have not confirmed reports that the murder occurred before Brown's 10-year-old daughter.

No motive has been given for the killing.
