TSO got off to a great start with 11 University and College (UCA) members enjoying a solid dose of retail therapy. #Sharingthe love were tertiary students from UWI (Mona), UTech, Excelsior Community College, Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts, The Mico University College and a high school student from Alpha Academy with musical artiste Jeffrey “Sasco” Campbell; former 100-metre world record holder Asafa Powell; model and actress Gabrielle Davis; Nadeen Matthews-Blair, NCB chief digital and marketing officer, and CEO, NCB Foundation; business development exec Catherine Goodall; Kimala Bennett, managing director of The Lab; Pauline Edie, Selective Homes executive; Eroleen Anderson-Powell, interior decorator and property manager; Keneea Linton-George, principal Keneea Linton Boutique; Natalie Chin, JOL head of marketing, advertising and communication; and TSO conceptualiser Novia McDonald-Whyte. Shopping stops included Bijoux, Fashion 911, Keneea Linton Boutique, Bohemian Belle, Signatures Boutique, Payless, Maxie Department Store, Ammar's, and Lee's Fifth Ave.

Today, Thursday, October 3, marks a decade of Jamaica's greatest sale day, a platform brought to the island in 2009 under the banner Fashion's Night Out (FNO), an initiative birthed by American Vogue creative director Anna Wintour in response to the global recession, to restore consumer confidence and boost the industry's economy. Reimagined by the Jamaica Observer as Takes Style Out (TSO), the annual event continues to provide a welcome and much-needed economic stimulus for both consumers and retailers.

This year's theme #TSOShareTheShoppingExperience encourages shoppers to #sharethelove be it with students, a family member, a friend you've lost touch with, a neighbour who lives alone, or a cabal of your besties.
