Boothe, Powell — MVPs in St James FA's Under-17 and Under-20 leagues

MONTEGO BAY, St James —Green Pond High's goalkeeper Bricando Boothe and West Green FC's Jowell Powell were named Most Valuable Players (MVP's) in last Saturday's St James Football Association/Sandals Resorts International Under-17 and Under-20 football finals, respectively.

Both MVP's led their teams to victories over MoBay City FC and Rose Mount FC, respectively, as the 2017-18 season came to an end.

Boothe saved a penalty late in the game to preserve his team's 1-0 lead, after Chadaine Blagrove scored in the first half of the Under-17 final. Blagrove also won the award for scoring most goals in the competition.

Powell led his team to an emphatic come-from-behind 3-1 victory, capping off the performance by scoring his team's third goal, after setting up the first.

Antonio Kerr, also of West Green FC, won the award for most goals scored.
