NEGRIL, Westmoreland — Couples Negril and Couples Swept Away Anniversary Weekend is a marquee date on the resort chain's calendar and is generally marked with much fanfare.

This year marked the 20th anniversary for both resorts and was celebrated under the theme `It's a Celebration' last weekend (October 5 to 7).

The celebrations kicked off last Friday at Couples Swept Away with cocktails, followed by a dance party featuring Digicel Rising Stars 2008 finalist, Kahlil. The group easily got guests rocking and taking over the dance floor during their routine that included covers of local and international favourites.

The celebrations moved on to Couples Negril on Saturday with a cocktail party where the Jamaica Philharmonic Orchestra was the high point. They captivated the audience with their effortless rendition of classical pieces and infused reggae into their set.

Tammy T and Company then took guests through showtime by delivering an energetic set. DJ Bambino ended the night with a dance featuring hits from all genres.

The weekend was wrapped up on Sunday with a charity golf tournament at the Negril Golf Club.
