For over 40 years, Barita Investments — founded in 1977 by Rita Humphries-Lewin — has held a steady trajectory of growth and development of The Rock's financial sector. Recently, Cornerstone United Holdings Jamaica Limited (CUHJ) joined forces with Barita, so to increase their visibility and re-emerge in a new “game-changing” way. The group partnered with event stylist Jacqui Tyson — the chief coordinator of the company's rebranding exercises islandwide — to fête clients and introduce the current team of professionals tasked with “making money work for you”.

Barita put its money where its mouth is, so to speak, on Monday at the Valencia L & M at the Spanish Court Hotel, Worthington. The game changer-themed soirée afforded customers and partners the opportunity to socialise and talk figures in a more relaxed atmosphere accentuated with hints of the Barita blue.

What is game-changing about Barita? Customers, comprising doctors, lawyers, and independent consultants, left the event with a clear understanding of what the company is all about, via presentations from the group's General Manager Paula Barclay, and Vice-President of Asset Management and Research Ramon Small-Ferguson.

The charismatic Barclay introduced the game-changers, broke down Barita's takeover plans, announced the company's growth since the group “changed hands” less than a year ago, highlighted a number of significant triumphs of the current financial sector, and reintroduced the company's new marketing strategies — all while highlighting the new fixed-income, cambio, pensions, and wealth management services.

Small-Ferguson detailed in numbers how the economy has changed from “emerging” to “emerged” to a “developed” economy. “Barita has continuously in 40+ years harnessed change as an agency for wealth creation for its clients and shareholders. There's been a dramatic change in the financial landscape, to say the least, the economy...the investment landscape...and it has all coincided with our most recent involvement with the IMF,” he explained.

With the introduction of its Barita On The Go programme that spotlights the titans of industry, the group has ensured an airtight marketing strategy connects and attracts the newer, game-changing faces in the financial industry.
