The always popular but demanding None Such Sprint run over six furlongs (1,200 metres) is listed for competition next Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Caymanas Park.

Based on the provisional entries with their handicap weights sent out by the racing office, 10 horses have been entered for this year's renewal.

Topping the list is She's A Maneater with top weight of 126lb (57.0 kgs). She's A Maneater last raced on Lotto Day (May 26) when, in a scintillating display, the reigning Horse of the Year took home the Lotto Sprint Trophy in a fast 1:05.2 for five and a half furlongs (5 furlongs). Finishing second in the Lotto Sprint was Sir Budget, followed by Chace The Great and Money Magnet. The extra half a furlong of the None Such should suit She's A Maneater even more.

Next in line to She's A Maneater in the None Such handicaps is Will In Charge, who was simply outstanding when he led from start to finish to capture the Prime Minister's Stakes on August 25. Truth be told, Will In Charge is not expected to be an official starter in the None Such, and he is being programmed by trainer Robert Pearson for the Gold Cup (seven furlongs – 1,400 metres), then the Superstakes (10 furlongs – 2,000 metres), and finally the big one, the rich Diamond Mile in early December.

The current sprint champion, Chace The Great has been allotted 114lb (51.5 kgs) compared with the 121lb (55.0 kgs), he toted in the Lotto Sprint. This should give him a live shot in the None Such.

An interesting entry is Seeking My Dream. The former Horse of the Year has been battling injury issues for a while and has not been seen at his best in many moons. Whether or not he can cope with these right now, is the other matter in question.

The consistent and ever-improving filly Money Magnet from the stables of Richard Azan was allotted 101lb (46.0 kgs) but will have to carry the minimum weight for any race in Jamaica, 110lb (50.0 kgs).

Of the others provisionally entered in the None Such — Siempre Bueno, Mr Universe, Campesino, Another Bullet and Perfect Neighbour — most eyes will probably be focused on Mr Universe and his known sprinting ability.

If he starts on Saturday coming, punters are going to have a much better idea of Mr Universe's class and his true potential to race in the biggest league of all.

Siempre Bueno did well in the Lotto Sprint and has a fighting chance, like all the other entrants.

The aged warrior Campesino is still at the wicket strutting his stuff but may find these a bit challenging at the moment, while Perfect Neighbour is obviously using the None Such as preparation for longer races to come.

All in all, 10 good and talented horses have been provisionally entered for the None Such, which is named in honour of one of the best thoroughbreds to ever grace the racetrack at Caymanas Park, None Such.
