Easter Bun Baking with Trishannie Austin

3 cups of flour
3 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 pint of milk
2 tbsp melted margarine
2 tsp raisins
2 tsp mixed peel
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp nutmeg
Measure all ingredients in a bowl
and mix well.
Pour into bun-shaped baking pan
and bake in a moderate 3500F
until done well.
Glaze with sugar and water or
pancake syrup and serve.

I started baking in high school... at Hampton School for Girls. It was when I started Home Economics that I discovered my passion for cooking and baking.

I baked my first Easter bun in 2000. It didn't come out so well! That did not deter me... I just kept at it. I find baking to be an excellent pastime.

The most challenging aspect of baking an Easter bun is... worrying about the end product.

My must-have ingredient in my bun is... honey.
